Research study suggests high success rate
A retrospective analysis of the work of Teens and Toddlers, released this month by The Dream Mill, provides strong evidence that the programme was both well implemented and effective in reducing teenage pregnancy.
Of the 83 respondents surveyed a year or more after completing the programme there were no reported pregnancies in the under 18 age group and only one reported pregnancy in the over 18 age group.
Furthermore exploration of the attitudes of the teens showed that over 90 per cent of all respondents felt that the programme had had a positive effect in encouraging them to increase the age at which they would have children - with this most pronounced amongst the women.
